Faces 51 & 52 - “Kermit” & “Mary” my parents

“Mary” & “Kermit”

“Mary” & “Kermit”

Project #100Faces

As part of this challenge to paint 100 faces, I wanted to paint some influential and important people to me. Who better than the people who loved me first and nurtured me. My parents have modeled love, working together and steadfastness in their marriage- they celebrated 50 years together in 2018.

My Dad, Kermit is a quiet, hardworking man.  He is a skilled agriculturalist (i.e. farmer 👨‍🌾). He has a serious green thumb which nurtured my love for growing things. He is also creative...a natural at inventions.

My Mom, Mary is industrious and friendly.  She’s gifted at sewing, cooking and gardening...a “maker” before it was trendy!

I guess with parents like these, its no surprise that the need to create pumps through my veins

It was fun catching features of my sisters and I as I captured  our parents likenesses in oil  on 6”x6”x1.5” deep canvases.
