Meet Sharon Sudduth

Sharon is a Kansas girl now living and working from her home studio in Enid, Oklahoma.  She credits her upbringing as a Midwest farm girl for her love for nature and the simple things in life.  All it takes to inspire a joyful, colorful painting is a freshly picked flower, a jar of pickles, or birds at the feeder.

Sharon took some art classes in college, but ultimately ended up earning a BSE in elementary education. In her 20’s she set a life goal of becoming a full time artist. After a variety of career experiences, including teaching, project management, interior design, and leading a chamber of commerce, Sharon had the opportunity to pursue that goal in 2012 after moving to Oklahoma.

Before she even realized that “daily painting” was a thing, Sharon was doing just that. After taking her kids to school, she would spend all day in the studio. She began making mixed media pieces using acrylics and paper. Soon she transitioned to learning acrylics and in 2016 she took several online workshops with Donna Downey. By 2018, intrigued (and a bit scared) by oil painting, Sharon took an online intro to oils painting workshop and fell in love with the medium.

Sharon loves to create joyful colorful art filled with layers, reflections and light. Her extensive collection of paintings include bold expressive florals, animals, food and even portraits. In 2019, after painting 100 Faces on 6x6 canvases in under a year. her entire collection of portraits were featured in a solo show at the Paseo Art Space in Oklahoma City.  Her specialty is painting big floral art. “It is easy to overlook a flower on the side of your path, but when I paint it large, you’ll have a hard time missing it’s intricacies and splendor!” Sudduth remarks. Her paintings are sold online, at local shops, art shows and at events. She also does commission work.
