"Ad Astra Per Aspera" - Buffalo Oil Painting 30x24 inches

The state motto for Kansas is “Ad Astra Per Aspera” which means: “To the stars through difficulty.” The world has been filled with much adversity over the past year, which has made me grateful for the wide open spaces and pioneering spirit of the Midwest. Strong faith, courage and determination has gotten many of us through this difficult time and I feel the American buffalo rightly depicts these attributes. These majestic beasts once freely roamed the Great Plains and have earned their place as the state animal of both Kansas and Oklahoma.
