Delectable Dragonfruit is one of the six paintings in my Fancy Fruit collection. Each 10"x10" oil painting features colorful and richly patterned backgrounds and dishes with a variety of fruit.
Although I had never tried this intriguing looking exotic fruit, I wanted to paint it, so I got to do both. It has a sweet flavor and similar texture to a kiwi I think. Pieces from my own collection of flea market inspired Pioneer Woman dishes, vintage glass and colorful patterned aprons and tea towels were used along with the fruit to set up a still life for each painting.
