"Mid-Century Mug" Ray Eames | Cupfull Collection 8x8 Original Oil (framed)

$300.00

The Cupfull Collection is here! During July I participated in an Instagram painting challenge with cups inspired by a female artist or designer. It was fun to learn about each creative woman and create a cup inspired by their contribution to art and design.

Day 11/12: The prompt for this cup is artist and designer, Ray Eames (1912-1988). She was the better half (**see quote below) of one of the most influential American design duos of the mid-century modern movement. She, along with husband, Charles, worked with molded plywood, fiberglass, and bent wire to create designs for furniture and architecture. Their work is also seen in textiles, toys, graphics, and more. **Charles is quoted as saying, “Anything I can do, Ray can do better. “

“Mid-Century Mug” is an original 8”x8” oil painting on a canvas panel. This piece is signed on the front. The painting is wired and framed. It comes with a certificate of authenticity.

When my sweet friend and neighbor, @mom2pilotnurse brought me a bouquet of peonies today, I couldn’t resist the urge to paint them! They made my studio smell heavenly! On a side note, I might have also taken a little peony photoshoot, rearrang
Sometimes it is fun to just play. Last Saturday I had some leftover paint, so I whipped up some citrus minis. Where would you display one of these 4x4 originals? I think they’ll look sharp in white floater frames.

Important announcement 📣 My plans for the week have been turned upside down. I was really looking forward to participating in my first Texas art festival this weekend. However because of the horrific tragedy in the community of Allen TX last weekend
